Bradford league

The Bradford Cricket League was founded in 1903, and is often described as the strongest (amateur) cricket competition

in England.

Although the league has traditionally served as a feeder system for Yorkshire CCC, the county side's rule, maintained

until the early 1990s, that their cricketers had to be Yorkshire-born and excluded born outside of the White Rose county,

who instead usually played in the Bradford League.

Famous players to go on to play at Test level, including Bill Athey, Martyn Moxon and Darren Gough for England, and Yousuf Youhana for Pakistan amongst many others.

In April 1999, Kathryn Leng became the first woman to play in the Bradford League, representing Yorkshire Bank.
