The JCT 600 Bradford League Management Board have postponed all of Saturday's opening day fixtures.
They have decided that the exceptional wet weather has resulted in many clubs being unable to carry out their normal pre-season pitch preparations.
The matches have now been re-arranged for Sunday, June 22, and the Management Board have made it clear that this is a one off decision. No further league fixtures will be switched as a result of bad weather.
Management Board members had been made aware of problems being experienced by a number of clubs and felt it was important to make an early decision in view of an unfavourable weather forecast for the rest of the week.
Chairman Graham Reid said: "It is crucial that the decision has been made early. We hope that this decision will be helpful to all clubs and we believe that in rearranging the games we have provided the opportunity for the matches to be decided on the field of play."
Clubs are reminded that the deadline for registering an overseas or first class player remain unaffected. Clubs have until 1pm on Saturday to comply with the league rules.
Tonight's meeting of the Management Board also issued guidance on thunder and lightening. Umpires are instructed to take the players from the field of play as soon as they hear the first clap of thunder or see the first flash of lightening.

Holders Woodlands will open their bid to win the Black Sheep Yorkshire Champions Trophy for the third successive year with an away tie against the Halifax League champions Mytholmroyd.
Woodlands are bidding to emulate the feat of fellow JCT 600 Bradford League side Pudsey St Lawrence who achieved a hat-trick of wins between 1986 and 1988.
And if they beat Mytholmroyd they will play away to the winners of the tie between Bradford Central League champions Hepworth/Idle and Central Yorkshire League winner Townville. That means there could be a repeat of the 2006 final when Woodlands defeated Townville.
For the first time the draw for the first round of the county's top cup competition was seeded which meant each of the eight unseeded teams were guaranteed a home tie against one of the top eight clubs who were Woodlands, Pudsey Congs, York, Honley, Collingham, Elsecar, Townville and Clifton Alliance.
Pudsey Congs, who were last season's beaten finalist, must visit the Pontefract League champions Streethouse.
If Congs are successful they will be away again in the second round to the tie between the Wetherby League champions Church Fenton and the South Yorkshire title holders Elsecar.
The venue for this year's final was revealed when the first round draw was made at Hanging Heaton today. Huddersfield League champions Honley will host the match which has been provisionally arranged for Sunday, August 17.
The Yorkshire County Cricket Club are delighted to be hosting the 4th npower Ashes Test starting on Friday 7th August 2009 and the Club look forward to welcoming cricket fans from around the globe to the Headingley Carnegie Stadium. The Club are already receiving many enquiries regarding ticketing arrangements for the 4th npower Ashes Test Match and can confirm that the first tickets will go on sale from October 2008.
The Club had pushed for an Ashes Test towards the end of 2009 due to the work planned to build the proposed Carnegie Pavilion at the Kirkstall Lane End of the ground. The August Test provides additional time to make a start with development work while ensuring the ground is fit for a Test Match of this stature and temporary seating is in place. Stewart Regan , Chief Executive, said, “Today’s announcement is fantastic news. This is the Ashes Test Match the Club ideally wanted and we look forward to playing host to such an eagerly anticipated fixture after missing out in 2005. Ashes Test matches at Headingley Carnegie are special occasions. This date is right in the middle of the school holidays so we expect demand for tickets to be huge, particularly as we will be hosting the only Ashes Test to be played north of Edgbaston.”
